ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr Zafar Mirza said on Wednesday that authorities have decided to establish 12 more coronavirus testing laboratories very soon as the number of coronavirus patients haven risen across the country.
Talking to media Mirza said 20 coronavirus testing laboratories are fully functional whereas 12 more would be established soon in different cities across the country.
Mirza further told that the first shipment of 57,000 kits was imported from China, followed by another of 30,000, whereas 192,000 more would reach the country by today.
He also assured that the authorities were considering concrete measures to tackle the chances of hunger among the poor through a joint strategy in the country.
Dr Zafar Mirza also announced that the number of laboratories for coronavirus screening will be increased to 40 across the country.
While requesting the citizens to stay calm, he assured people that the government was keeping a keen eye on the situation and was taking effective measures to control the diseases with the support of public.
Mirza further added that coronavirus control, diagnosing facilities would be binding upon the private sector run hospitals to allocate beds and facilities for the coronavirus patients.
