Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has asserted that Pakistan can act as a bridge between China and the United States, emphasizing that it has fulfilled this role in the past as well.
According to media reports, in a recent statement, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari highlighted Pakistan’s historical role in facilitating diplomatic ties between China and the US. He also noted that some countries are exploiting the rivalry between these global powers for their own advantage.
The PPP chairman stated, “Our perspective on China-US relations is distinct. If India positions itself against China, the region’s power balance will be disrupted. The United States can contribute by facilitating the restoration of trade and diplomatic dialogue between Pakistan and India.”
“Both Pakistan and India face common challenges such as poverty and unemployment,” Bilawal Bhutto remarked, stressing that Pakistan will take necessary measures to safeguard its regional security. “We aim to bridge gaps rather than widen divisions,” he added.
Bilawal Bhutto also criticized the current economic crisis, calling it the worst in Pakistan’s history. He dismissed the PML-N-led government’s claims of record-low inflation, arguing that the ruling party is overlooking ground realities. He reiterated that the PPP, despite being an ally in the federal government, maintains its independent stance on key national issues.
