Defending champion Pakistan is all but out of ICC Champions Trophy after losing to Indian by six wickets in Dubai. If New Zealand defeats Bangladesh tomorrow, the Pakistan’s Champions Trophy campaign will be officially over.
The Rohit Sharma-led team successfully chased down 242 runs against their arch-rivals. Shreyas Iyer contributed with a half-century, while Shubman Gill added 46 runs.
Earlier, India’s disciplined bowling attack successfully restricted Pakistan to a total of 241.
Pakistan’s innings started poorly after winning the toss, losing both openers before reaching the 50-run mark. Babar Azam managed to score 23, while Imam-ul-Haq was dismissed for just 10.
Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan then built a crucial 104-run partnership, helping Pakistan recover from a precarious 47 for 2. Shakeel contributed 62 runs, and Rizwan added 46. However, after their departure, Pakistan continued to lose wickets at regular intervals, ultimately falling short of 250 runs.

Kuldeep Yadav emerged as the standout bowler for India, taking 3 wickets for 40 runs. Hardik Pandya also delivered an impressive performance, securing 2 wickets for 31 runs, while Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, and Harshit Rana each claimed one wicket.
