The Pakistan cricket team has paid tribute to umpire Aleem Dar, who recently stepped down from the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) elite panel of umpires. Dar officiated over 400 international matches across the world, including multiple ICC events, before retiring from the panel.
After the second One Day International (ODI) match against New Zealand on Sunday (April 30), Pakistani captain Babar Azam and his teammates presented a signed jersey to Dar, honoring his illustrious umpiring career in the ICC elite panel. A video of the presentation was shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board’s Instagram handle, giving fans a glimpse of the touching gesture.

Dar, who is known for his excellent decision-making, has been a part of the ICC elite panel of umpires since 2004. He has also been a recipient of several awards for his contributions to the game, including the David Shepherd Trophy for the ICC Umpire of the Year in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012.
