The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) registered 3,046 new companies in February 2025, bringing the total number of companies to 246,608, according to media reports on Sunday.
Of the new registrations, 99.9 percent were completed through the SECP’s digital platform. The data also showed that 58 percent of the new companies were private, while 38 percent were single-member entities.
Additionally, three foreign companies established trade centers in Pakistan during February. A total of 635 companies related to commerce and information technology (IT) were registered that month.
The breakdown of new registrations includes 286 companies in the commerce sector, 379 in services, and 296 in real estate and construction. Other sectors also saw growth, with 165 companies in tourism and transport, 139 in food and beverages, 78 in marketing and advertising, 75 in textiles, and 56 in corporate agriculture farming and other industries.
The surge in foreign company registrations is attributed to the government’s attractive investment policies, which have encouraged increased foreign interest in Pakistan.
