ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the steering committee of the opposition PDM will be held today to decide the schedule for future action against the incumbent government.
During the meeting, a schedule for protests, long marches, countrywide shutter down, the wheel-jam strike will be finalised.
During the meeting, the committee members will also look into the option of converting the long march into an indefinite sit-in. PML-N secretary general Ahsan Iqbal, in this regard, said that his party wanted to start the proposed long march while carrying their resignations and submit them at the time of the sit-in.

“The choice is either you have controversial by-elections or non-controversial general elections,” he said, adding that it would not be possible to hold by-elections on more than 100 seats of the National Assembly.
The PDM chief said all the participants were unanimous that despite all odds they would hold the public meeting in Lahore at the already announced venue of Minar-i-Pakistan.
Earlier, members of the National and Provincial Assemblies were directed to submit their resignations to the party leadership at the PDM meeting yesterday and a meeting has been announced to be held in Lahore on 13th December in any case.
Eleven opposition parties have set a date for the long march. According to sources, the anti-government march will take place in January. Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that all members of the National and Provincial Assemblies will submit their resignations to the party leadership by 31st December.
PML-N MPAs have started sending their resignations to the central leadership. PPP member Punjab Assembly Ali Haider Gilani has also sent his resignation to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
