RAWALPINDI: The head of Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has again advised to hold free, fair and transparent elections so that Pakistan could avert economic default.
Taking to Twitter, he said the economic bankruptcy was knocking at the door, and the country could avert economic default should fresh elections take place.
Sheikh Rashid said even Shehbaz Sharif had, who once had boasted to sell out his clothing in order to provide relief to the masses, had admitted deepening financial crisis but Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had turned a blind eye to what was happening in the country.

The AML Chief said the national integrity linked with political, economic and social stability and hoped that decision would be taken in this regard today in the civil-military leadership meeting.
He also lashed out at the coalition government for over spending funds on the cabinet members, adding that IMF conditions were only for the poor segment of the society. He said the rulers had stashed their wealth in foreign banks.
