ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has estimated a 2% rise in diesel prices and a marginal decrease in the petrol rate for the month of February based on existing tax rates.
A government official informed media reporters that Ogra sent a summary to the government on Thursday providing petroleum price estimates based on existing General Sales Tax (GST) and petroleum levy rates, he said the Ministry of Finance would notify the ex-depot petroleum product prices on Jan 31.

Depending on the import stability price of Pakistan State Oil for purchase in January, Ogra worked out about Rs2.47 per liter increase in the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) and Rs1.10 per liter in light diesel oil (LDO). while the regulator measured six paisa and 66 paisa per liter decrease in petrol and kerosene oil prices in both.
By some as, the HSD ex-depot rate was determined at Rs129.73 per liter instead of Rs127.26, showing an increase of 1.9pc, Similarly, the LDO ex-depot price was estimated at Rs85.61 per liter rather than the existing Rs84.51, shows an increase of 1.3pc.
