The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has issued a clarification statement regarding the increase in gas prices.
OGRA explained that the reports of an increase in gas prices are baseless, and no recommendation for a change in prices has been made so far.
There are circulating media reports suggesting that OGRA has proposed an approximately 41% increase in gas prices, which could be implemented next month after the approval of the federal government.
Yesterday, it was reported that despite a severe gas shortage, the Sui Southern Gas Company has issued notifications for domestic consumers based on OGRA’s directives, providing estimates and payment details for monthly rates for the next four months (from November to February).
Under this distribution, domestic consumers who have used an average of 91CM or more gas during the four-month period will be classified as “unprotected,” while those using 90 or less will be classified as “protected.
