The Government of Sindh has recently launched an online facility for paying vehicle taxes to enhance convenience for its citizens. This initiative aims to streamline the tax payment process and reduce the need for physical visits to tax offices.
According to a notification issued by the Provincial Excise Department, vehicle owners can now pay their annual taxes through online platforms. This means that payments can be made not only through traditional bank channels but also using popular mobile financial services such as EasyPaisa and JazzCash. This move is expected to provide a more flexible and accessible option for taxpayers.
Additionally, the Provincial Excise Department’s Motor Vehicle Wing will shift from handling cash transactions to issuing Payment Status Indicators (PSIs). This change is part of an effort to modernize the payment system and improve efficiency. The new system will be operational starting August 5, 2024.
This development is part of the government’s broader strategy to improve public services and adapt to the growing trend of digital transactions. It aims to make the process of vehicle tax payment more user-friendly and accessible, ultimately benefiting the citizens by reducing time and effort spent on tax-related activities.
