QUETTA: The Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) and allies Wednesday submitted a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Balochistan Abdul Quddus Bizenjo.
Former chief minister Jam Kamal Khan, Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind, and Zahoor Buledi have submitted the no-trust motion against Balochistan CM Abdul Quddus Bizenjo.
The no-trust motion has been submitted to the Balochistan Assembly with the signatures of 14 lawmakers which was submitted by Jam Kamal Khan, Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind, and Zahoor Buledi.
While addressing a press conference, Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind said that they have the support of the required number of lawmakers to make the no-trust motion against CM Bizenjo successful.
He criticized that Imran Khan has neglected Balochistan province and he never gave importance to his old friends of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Rind said that Jam Kamal Khan’s era was far better than the rulership of Bizenjo. He admitted that they have differences with Jam Kamal during his tenure but they have never leveled allegations of corruption against him.
Former Balochistan CM Jam Kamal Khan said that he has expressed reservations about the political affairs of the province during the last six to seven months. “We are willing to see improvements but no changes were made. We have told them many times that they cannot tolerate injustice with Balochistan.”
He said that he has also adopted a one-point agenda during the no-trust motion in the Centre which was focused on getting support to bring positive change in the political situation in Balochistan.
The politician claimed that the Centre has supported them. He clarified that they have no other agenda rather than bringing a positive change in the province.
“The no-trust motion is also signed by the opposition leaders. We have a like-minded group and we will make future decisions through consultations. Our group of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) was supporting the no-trust motion in the Centre.”
Jam Kamal Khan said that they will not stay silent over injustice within the province. He added that any prime minister or chief minister should complete the five-year term.
Earlier today, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Balochistan had claimed that it had the support of enough MPAs to table a no-trust motion against Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo within 24 hours.
According to President PTI Balochistan chapter Yar Muhammad Rind, the parties supporting the no-trust move included Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Awami National Party (ANP), and PTI and they have completed their consultation on the matter.
“We have all the required numbers and the no-confidence motion will be a success against Bizenjo,” said Rind, adding that the party will decide about the new chief minister after holding consultations with other parties.
“Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind, Jam Kamal, and Asghar Achakzai have consulted over the matter,” the sources said and added that they have the required numbers to de-seat the chief minister.
Yar Muhammad Rind while confirming the no-trust move said that Quddus Bizenjo has disappointed people and elected representatives of the province.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Balochistan government Farah Azeem said that statements regarding the no-trust move against the incumbent chief minister are being given previously at multiple occasions and they should bring it to the assembly.
“All MPAs have reposed their trust on Abdul Quddus Bizenjo and only Yar Muhammad Rind is desperate for the move as he is not being included in the incumbent setup,” she said.
In October 2021, Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan tendered his resignation ahead of voting on a no-confidence motion.
Abdul Quddus Bizenjo later emerged as the joint candidate of BAP, ANP, and PTI and was elected the chief executive of the province. Bizenjo also remained the speaker of the Balochistan Assembly previously.
Out of 65 members, the votes of 33 members will be required for the no-confidence motion to be successful, while the party needs 17 votes to file the motion against the CM.
