LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has once again ruled any compromises, reiterating that the rally would be held at Minar-e-Pakistan ‘at any cost’.
“Centre is considering holding a dialogue after they realised that their government is slipping away from them,” she said, addressing a press conference alongside Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto.
Referring to Prime Minister Imran Khan, the PML-N vice president said that the person who had been stating repeatedly that he won’t give any NRO was begging for talks. “Neither the PDM nor the people would give any NRO to Imran,” she added.
“I believed from the very beginning that the current government was bogus and there shouldn’t be any dialogue with them,” she added. Meanwhile, Maryam also thanked Bilawal for inquiring about PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif’s health and expressing his condolences over her grandmother, Shamim Akhtar’s, death.
Speaking on the occasion, PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that a historic jalsa would take place in Lahore on December 13. “Just like Karachi, Peshawar, and Gujranwala, Lahore will also send a strong message to Islamabad proving that our puppet prime minister stands alone [in the capital],” he added.
Bilawal Bhutto further said that the government and its facilitators should know that they will not be able to stand between the masses and their aspirations for long.
“We believe that the PDM’s first phase has been successful, and after December 13, we will enter the second phase. All of you will see that this government will pack its bags itself,” he remarked.
PML-N leaders have said that big decisions were expected to take place at the Lahore rally with many political analysts predicting the PDM lawmakers will announce resigning from the provincial and national assemblies.
