LAHORE: Special Assistant to the Punjab Chief Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan has urged the citizens to comply with COVID-19 related standard operating procedures (SOPs), saying that there would be no traditional jhappian and pappian this Eid.
Talking to journalists in Rawalpindi, the special assistant asserted that there should be no meetings with friends and families, warning politicians against hosting Eid reunion parties anywhere in the province.

“There will be no Eid gatherings anywhere, neither will there be any Eid parties or Eid-Milans. And there will be none of the traditional Eid jhappian and pappian (hugs and kisses),” Firdous Awan added.
The warning came a day before the Punjab government imposed a complete lockdown in the province as part of efforts to contain the coronavirus pandemic in the country. The NCOC announced a new set of instructions, including a blanket ban on tourism and inter-provincial transport.
