Pakistani actress Nimra Bucha has been included in the cast for TV series ‘Ms Marvel’ which will be available on Disney+ late 2021.
Nimra Bucha was recently seen in the web series ‘Churails’ which streamed on ZEE5. The actress is all set to make her way into the Marvel Universe with ‘Ms Marvel’.
Her character has not been disclosed yet and she has made no mention on social media either but the website has confirmed her presence.
The main character for the Marvel Studios original series is played by Iman Vellani. It centres on Kamala Khan, a 16-year-old Pakistani-American, growing up in Jersey City.
Kamala is a student, an avid gamer and has a special affinity for superheroes, but struggles to fit in at home and at school. This is until she gets superpowers.
Other cast members include Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Naki, Azher Usman, and Travina Springer.
It is being directed by Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah of the ‘Bad Boys for Lif’e, Meera Menon of ‘The Walking Dead’ and Oscar-winning Pakistani Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.
Marvel has provided the first look at some of the footage, including one of Kamala lying on her bed as she stares at a poster of Captain Marvel.
Kevin Feige, president Marvel Studios, announced during a Walt Disney Investor Day presentation that Iman Vellani will star as Kamala Khan, alias Ms. Marvel, in the upcoming show. It is slated to arrive on Disney+ in 2021.
