Nicki Minaj took her reignited beef with Megan Thee Stallion to another level on Friday when she cracked a joke about the “Savage” rapper’s mother who died a few years ago.
Megan spits venom in the direction of Minaj on “Hiss,” on which she sinks her fangs into her husband, registered sex offender Kenneth Petty, while referencing Megan’s Law, a federal law requiring law enforcement to make information available about registered sex offenders.
“These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law/ I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start/ B—h, you a p—y, never finna check me/ Every chance you get, bet your weak ass won’t address me,” the Houston rapper unloads on “Hiss,” which arrived on Friday (Jan. 26)
The three-time Grammy Award winner sent the internet into a frenzy going into the weekend when she dropped “HISS.” The scathing track takes shots at unnamed detractors, one of whom is presumably the 41-year-old artist. When addressing speculation about the track taking aim at specific people, Megan told “The Breakfast Club,” a “hit dog will holler.”
The feud escalated with Minaj’s demand for an apology regarding Megan’s lyric referencing “Megan’s Law,” a nod to Petty’s sex offender status.
Fans conjectured that the jab was directed at Minaj’s brother, who was found guilty of sexual assault. “Big Foot”‘s release intensifies the rivalry that erupted following Megan and Minaj’s 2019 collaboration on “Hot Girl Summer.”
Amidst personal misfortunes, such as Minaj’s mother passing away and Megan’s foot injuries after the Lanez incident, the argument becomes more heated.
The Grammy-winning artists are still at odds with one another, even though they had previously worked together. Minaj’s harsh lyrics and Megan’s incisive comments have fueled the controversy.
