The Karachi Commissioner, Syed Hassan Naqvi, has unveiled revised prices for naan and chapati. A 100-gram chapati is now priced at Rs10, while a 120-gram naan will cost Rs15. Additional options include a 150-gram naan at Rs17 and an 180-gram naan at Rs22.
Naqvi has instructed bread shop owners to clearly display these updated rates, emphasizing that charging higher prices is against the law.
Strict penalties will be imposed on violators. A control room has been established to monitor compliance, and citizens are encouraged to report any irregularities for prompt action.
Earlier, the Karachi administration announced reduced wheat flour (Atta) prices on Thursday. As per an official notification, the wholesale price of fine wheat flour has been set at Rs78 per kilogram, while the retail price is Rs90 per kilogram.
