The National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) is responsible for issuing the smart National Identity Card (NIC) to the citizens of Pakistan.
This ID card incorporates cutting-edge technology and well-defined business rules to ensure its authenticity and validity.
The national identity card holds crucial significance as it is a mandatory requirement for obtaining various documents such as a license, NTN, bank account, passport, cellular connection, and more.
Every eligible citizen of Pakistan, aged 18 and above, can apply for the ID card.
To apply for the New Smart ID Card, individuals can either visit the NADRA Registration Center (NRC) or use the Pak Identity website. The Smart National Identity Card (SNIC) application can be completed online through the Pak Identity website, with the card subsequently delivered to the applicant’s doorstep.
It’s important to note that the application for a fresh/new CNIC cannot be submitted through the website.
As of February 2024, the normal fee for the New Smart National Identity Card remains unchanged. The fee for the normal category is Rs750, while the urgent fee is Rs1,500. Additionally, the executive category incurs a fee of Rs2,500, as received by NADRA.
