Social media users are confused and triggered by actress Nadia Jamil’s misleading yet confusing critique of the recently released movie ‘Barbie’.
Coming directly to her criticism, she posted an unnecessarily lengthy tweet regarding the movie and shared how she witnessed cringe moments while watching Barbie and wasted her money. Jamil had issues with:
- ‘Pregnant doll’ labelled ‘too weird’ in the movie.
- Cool girl Sasha becomes an over-groomed pink bunny.
- The flat feet scene.
- The number of times cellulite is mentioned as something ugly was sick.
- Barbie with short hair is considered ‘weird’.
- Every woman doesn’t ‘tie herself up in knots to be liked’.
- The sudden epiphany for ‘ordinary Barbie’ ends with ordinary Barbie a mom.
I’d like 2 share a few of my cringe moments while watching #Barbie. I’d also like 2 say the ONLY reason I wasted my money on it was because @govtofpunjabpk banned it😂
1/ “Pregnant doll is just too weird” This doll is shown twice & mocked both times.

Jamil in her tweet post mentioned that ‘Barbie’ states the obvious ad nauseam. It bores 4 intelligent adults, is rarely funny, and sells ideas about beauty 2 children, while rarely celebrating inclusivity as something normal and human.

According to Jamil, Barbia is nothing but a loudly stereo-typing movie that shows the worst of shallow elitism and the worst aspects of people in the US.
This detailed analysis was enough to confuse and trigger the audience who watched the movie and started thinking if the actress had watched the same Barbie as them. However, one of the social media users separately posted a detailed answer to Jamil’s post; She literally reminded the actress of a little thing called ‘satire’.
