Residents of Chengdu, China, were left astonished by a peculiar phenomenon after a video emerged showing seven suns illuminating the sky over Sichuan Province.
The footage, recorded earlier this month by a woman in a Chengdu hospital, quickly went viral on Weibo, generating significant buzz.
In the mind-bending video, the seven suns are aligned next to each other, each exhibiting different intensities. According to Sin Chew Daily, this extraordinary sight only lasted about a minute, leaving the onlooker in utter disbelief.

Experts suggest that this unusual occurrence could be attributed to a phenomenon known as parhelion, or sun dogs, which are caused by sunlight refracting through ice crystals in the atmosphere, creating the illusion of multiple suns alongside the real one.
This isn’t the first instance of such a sighting; a similar event was captured in Qinghai last year.
The video sparked amusement among Chinese netizens, who humorously called for the legendary archer Hou Yi to intervene, referencing a myth where ten suns once appeared in the sky simultaneously, scorching the Earth. Hou Yi shot down nine of the suns, leaving just one to manage the daily shifts.
Commenters also jokingly suggested that the sudden appearance of seven suns could explain the recent intense heat waves in the region.
