The video’s description listed June 27, 2025, as the official release date, sparking widespread enthusiasm. Although Netflix quickly made the video private, fans managed to capture the details and shared them across social media.

Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk shared that the death of Gi-hun’s best friend from Season 1, Jung-bae, was strategically planned as the perfect conclusion to Season 2. “Audiences are definitely going to be shocked and very sad to see Jung-bae go,” Hwang revealed in an exclusive interview with Tudum.
He added, “He’s also the only person within the games that Gi-hun can trust and completely rely on.”
A mid-credits scene teased that the games would continue even after Gi-hun’s capture, setting the stage for the next chapter.
Hwang also hinted that season 3 would continue to explore “the fierce clash between [Gi-hun and Front Man’s] two worlds.”
