ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Saturday approved a reduction in the power tariff by Rs0.32 per unit on account of monthly fuel adjustment (MFA) for the month of December.
As per details, Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) requested NEPRA for an increase of Rs0.25 per unit upon which NEPRA has issued a notification, announcing Rs0.32 cut down in electricity prices in terms of monthly fuel adjustments, the price reduction will be applicable for the month of December only.
“The reduction in power tariff is due to the monthly fuel adjustment of October.” the notification said.
It is important to note that the fall-off pricing does not apply to lifeline customers, K-Electric customers, customers with more than 300 units, or charging stations for electric vehicles.
NEPRA had already announced a cut in Karachi residents’ electricity rates.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a lowering of Rs2.45 per unit in the power tariff at K-request, Electric’s which resulted in a reduction of Rs1.88 per unit. The price reduction would only be in effect for one month.
