Amid the intensifying backlash surrounding Sardaar Ji 3, Indian actress Neeru Bajwa has unfollowed her Pakistani co-star Hania Aamir on Instagram and wiped all promotional content related to the film from her social media platforms.
The move comes just a day before the film’s overseas release and follows public outrage over the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in a lead role, especially in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack. While Diljit Dosanjh, who also stars in the film, continues to promote it, many have criticized his silence on the controversy.
Neeru’s latest Instagram activity shows no trace of Sardaar Ji 3. Instead, her most recent post highlights the teaser for her upcoming film Son of Sardaar 2. The apparent snub hasn’t gone unnoticed, with social media users both praising and attacking her. One commenter wrote, “This is brave on Neeru’s part! Respect to her,” while another noted the backlash she’s receiving, saying, “Girl is getting so much hate from the Pakis and Diljit fans!”
Sardaar Ji 3, directed by Amar Hundal, is a horror-comedy that follows ghost hunters, played by Diljit and Hania, as they tackle supernatural events in a haunted mansion in the UK. Despite being cleared for screening in Pakistan, the film will not be released in India.
