ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that we need to strike a balance between COVID-19 and hunger.
In a statement, the foreign minister said, “We need to strike a balance between COVID-19 and hunger as the nation is fighting on two ends.”
Shah Mehmood Qureshi also predicted that the rise of coronavirus cases in Pakistan is expected in the near future. “We are expecting a rise in coronavirus cases in May and June,” he said.
The foreign minister said that we should be ready to face any sort of undesirable circumstances as peak has not passed in the country as yet. Qureshi further said that the government cannot afford a permanent lockdown.
Earlier, Qureshi while commenting on the alarming situation between India and Pakistan, said, “India had always risked peace but the provocation among the coronavirus pandemic was beyond anyone’s imaginations.”
He said, “Tension between Pakistan and India has intensified at a time when both the two nuclear-armed neighbours are fighting the coronavirus pandemic.”
“Pakistan wants peace but India is intensifying tension. We are ready to defend the motherland but will never be the first to create any problem. The world should stop India’s belligerence,” he asserted.
