The minister further stated that exam situation will also be discussed at the meeting. “Whatever is decided at the meeting will be a collective decision of the country’s health and education authorities as well as the NCOC,” he added.
Pakistan had announced to re-open all educational institutions in March this year after almost a year of online education due to coronavirus. As the third wave started to peak, the government ordered closure of all schools in Covid-19 hotspots for two weeks from March 15.
The closure was extended in high-risk areas and specific districts of the country until April 11. Mahmood had back then announced that examinations would be held as per schedule.
Meanwhile, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani announced the closure of schools till class eight for fifteen days. Taking to Twitter, Saeed Ghani said, “Sindh Education Department has decided to suspend physical classes till class eight in all public and private schools across the province from April 6 for the next fifteen days.”
“However, the schools would be able to continue delivering online classes, or keep the students engaged through homework and other means,” the provincial minister tweeted.
