WAZIRABAD: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has asserted that Punjab has been rendered orphan without top party leaders Shehbaz and Nawaz Sharif, assuring that former premier would return and resolve all issues.
Addressing a rally in Wazirabad ahead of PP-51 by-poll in the Punjab town, Maryam Nawaz asked the crowd not to vote for the PTI candidate in the upcoming by-election. “If PTI leaders ask you to vote for them show them your electricity and gas bills,” she added.
She reiterated that Prime Minister Imran Khan was brought into power by ‘selectors’, mocking the premier of being the most obedient person in the country. “Stop interfering in the people’s matters and perform your duties,” Maryam told PM Imran’s “selectors”.
Maryam Nawaz also criticized political opponents over allegations that she had been using the “Punjab Card” in an attempt to woo the people of the province. “I am daughter of Punjab and will continue to speak for the rights of this province,” she added.
Maryam dismissed the assertion that by speaking in Punjabi she was promoting regional politics. “I am daughter of Pakistan as well and whenever people in any area of the country face any issue I will raise my voice for them too,” she concluded.
