Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz(PML-N) supremo and three-time former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will surrender before the Islamabad High Court today after getting protective bail.
Nawaz, who arrived in the country after four years of exile on Saturday, had obtained protective bail from the high court which expires today.
He will also attend a hearing to have his appeals restored in the Avenfield and Al-Azizia cases. Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb will hear the petition.
Nawaz will then appear in the Accountability Court in front of Judge Muhammad Bashir in the Toshakhana case.
Judge Bashir had agreed to suspend Nawaz’s perpetual warrants to allow him to appear in court. The judge had ruled that the warrants would be restored if Nawaz did not appear in person.
It should be noted that some political parties in Pakistan are alleging that Nawaz Sharif has returned to the country under a secret deal with the “unseen powers” which is why he is being given special relief by the courts. However, PML-N has rejected these claims.
