LAHORE: Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has claimed that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his party were against nuclear testing.
While addressing a conference, the railway minister said that nuclear tests were conducted by Raja Zafar ul Haq, Gohar Ayub along with himself.
“I want to tell the whole nation that nuclear tests were carried out by Raja Zafar ul Haq, Gohar Ayub, and Sheikh Rasheed. Nawaz Sharif and his whole cabinet were against it. All governments along with Dr. Abdul Qadeer worked on it,” he asserted.
He further said, “These Sharifs and Gillanis have plundered national wealth. Now is the time that the prime minister should hold accountable all those involved in sugar and wheat crisis.” He added, “Findings of Independent Power Projects (IPPs) inquiry report will be made public.”
Speaking of railways, he said that the department suffered a loss of Rs. 500,00,000 in ten days. “We cannot adjust more than 60 percent of people in trains and that is why we are not making more trains functional,” he explained. According to Sheikh Rasheed, around 100 trains will not function.
