PESHAWAR: The first-ever Inspector General Frontier Corp National Taekwondo Championship has been inaugurated in South Waziristan.
The champion will be held at the Spinkai Cadet College from 12-15th November. The chief guest on the occasion was Commander FC South.
Speaking at the inauguration, he said the main aim of the event is involve youth in healthy activities and discover their skills. He said the peace has restored in the area due to the efforts of law-enforcement agencies and local residents.
Commandant Gomal Scouts, civil society, school children, sports players, and large number of people attended the ceremony. The IG FC Taekwondo Championship trophy was unveiled. School children sang national songs and performed traditional Pashto dance.
Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) is organising the event in collaboration with IGFC (South) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in which eight teams are participating.
Teams from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Islamabad, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Waziristan Azmarae (host team) are participating in the four-day tournament.
