ISLAMABAD: Nation is celebrating Pakistan Air Force day across the country today to pay homage to the martyrs of PAF in defending the country during the Indo-Pak War in 1965.
Air Force Day day honours the martyrs from the Pakistan Air Force who sacrificed their lives in the 1965 war as well as the 1971 war. It is celebrated a day after Defence Day on 6th September.
Important events will be held across the country on September 7 on the occasion of Air Force Day. Today, Fatiha will be recited at the mausoleum of Rashid Minhas, a young martyr of the Air Force, while Rashid Minhas, who was awarded the Nishan-e-Haider, attained the status of martyrdom by killing the instructor who was taking the secrets of the country to India.

Fateha will be recited and flowers will be offered at the shrine of young martyr Rashid Minhas. Pakistan Air Force has always made the nation proud with the services of officers like Rashid Minhas. The history of Pakistan is full of examples of such incidents in which army officers and soldiers sacrificed their lives for the motherland.
Pakistan Air Force veteran pilot MM Alam shot down the enemy aircraft within seconds. 1965 war hero MM Alam will always be remembered in the history of Pakistan Air Force. They shot down 4 Indian warplanes in 30 seconds. In recognition of his services, the national hero was awarded Star of Courage twice.Â
