LAHORE: A video of legend Abida Perveen and Naseebo Lal warmly greeting each other before a singing session has gone viral on the internet.
The 14th edition of the most-anticipated musical show, Coke Studio, premiered on Friday (January 14). Curated and produced by Xulfi, Coke Studio released the first song ‘Tu Jhoom’ from season 14 and it is a soulful number that’s got everyone’s heart in a twist in the best of ways.
In ‘Tu Jhoom’, Xulfi uses his musical sixth sense to create an atypical pairing so natural it’s borderline insanity that it wasn’t done before. Fans are in love with the stunning pairing of music icons; Sufi singer Abida Parveen and Punjabi artist Naseebo Lal.
While the track is breaking the internet with increasing number of views, the behind-the-scenes video clip of both singers, warmly greeting each other, has won the fans’ hearts.
The viral video shows Abida Parveen entering the studio and while passing by Naseebo Lal, stopping to lovingly kiss her hand. Lal quickly gets up to hug Parveen and the two were seen locked in an embrace for several moments.
Fans were bowled over by the display of humility and respect on both singers’ part. “So many people looked down upon Naseebo, trolled her for the PSL anthem. Abida ji is teaching everyone how it’s done,” said journalist Maria Memon, calling the moment “so powerful”.
This moment is so powerful, so important where an artist is showing respect for the craft of her fellow artist.
