SUKKUR: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) today (Wednesday) seized narcotics and weapons from a Station House Officer’s (SHO) residence in Mirpurkhas.
According to details, the ANF team conducted a raid on the house of SHO Mirwah Gorchani Kanwar Singh and seized about 500 kilograms charas, opium, imported liquor, one rifle, two TT pistols and two Kalashnikovs.
However, the police official reportedly managed to flee his house during the raid. After the raid, the Mirpurkhas deputy inspector-general (DIG) suspended the SHO Kanwar Singh.
Earlier in February, the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) of the Sindh police arrested two police officers from Karachi over releasing drug smugglers after receiving monetary benefits in return.
The AVCC arrested two cops from Defence police station in the city, including the station house officer (SHO) and the investigation officer (IO). The police days back arrested ice smugglers and recovered drugs worth hundreds of thousands of rupees from their possession.
The operation and investigation teams of the Defence police later allowed the criminals to go after receiving money from them.
