The National Database and Regulatory Authority (NADRA) is set to launch a new mobile application that will replace the Pak ID web portal, which will be permanently shut down on January 17.
The mobile app is designed to provide improved and more secure services, particularly for Pakistanis living abroad who previously faced challenges using the web portal for uploading fingerprints and other necessary documents.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi explained that the decision to terminate the web portal was influenced by concerns over fake identity documents being generated and uploaded through fraudulent websites and individuals. This posed a major risk to the security of citizens’ private information.
The new app offers a major upgrade, consolidating all NADRA services in one platform. These services include the issuance of ID cards, NICOPs, POCs, B-Forms, and FRCs. With this app, citizens will be able to complete their documentation processes conveniently from the comfort of their homes.
