KARACHI: The National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) has started the issuance of the COVID-19 immunization certificate to people with complete vaccine doses from all three mega centers of NADRA in Karachi.
According to sources, NADRA stated that the certificate will only be issued to people after the completion of two doses of COVID-19 vaccination doses.
Director General NADRA Sindh Ajam Durrani said that the facility has been provided at the authority’s mega centers in Karachi. “The certificate can also be accessed at our website with the national identity card number,” he said.
“The immunization certificate will be issued after completion of two doses of the Covid vaccine,” he mentioned. The vaccination certificate will cost Rs100 and will show the immunization status of an individual.
Earlier, Planning Minister Asad Umar said that a COVID-19 immunization certificate portal was launched in the country to facilitate the people. The planning minister said, “We will have to combat the pandemic once again by taking timely actions to save people from unemployment and avoid further restrictions.”
He also termed the new UK variant the major reason behind the rising trend of coronavirus across the county, saying that the UK variant is spreading fast in Punjab, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Warning that callousness towards compliance with coronavirus SOPs can lead us to endanger lives, Umar urged the people of Pakistan to take care of themselves and their families and friends by adopting preventive measures.
The third wave of the coronavirus continues to ring alarm bells for Pakistan as 4,767 new cases of the virus were reported across the country on Sunday in a single day.
Fifty-seven more people died from the virus while 4,767 more contracted the disease on Sunday, according to figures obtained from the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).
