The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced an upgraded version of the non-chip National Identity Card, featuring enhanced smart functionalities.
This new version is designed to improve both security and accessibility while reducing production costs.
The updated identity card includes bilingual information in English and Urdu, ensuring consistency with other official documents such as passports. A QR code embedded in the card allows citizens to conveniently access their digital identity through the Pak ID mobile application.
Special provisions have been introduced for designated groups under the new identity card system. Registered organ donors will have a unique symbol displayed on their ID cards and will be granted lifetime validity.
Likewise, individuals with disabilities will receive distinct identification markers along with the benefit of lifelong card validity.
Citizens may choose to obtain the newly introduced non-chip identity card when applying for a renewal, modification, or replacement of a lost card. The applicable fee structure for the non-chip card is as follows:
- Normal: Rs400 (31-day delivery)
- Urgent: Rs1,150 (15-day delivery)
- Executive: Rs2,150 (9-day delivery)
- First-time applicants aged 18: Free (normal category)
