The model and actor expressed surprise at how quickly the government acted in this case, with ASP Sheherbano issuing a statement, followed by press conferences from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and the college principal.
Initially, Nadia supported the investigation led by ASP Sheherbano Naqvi and the Punjab Police, which concluded that the sexual assault allegations were based on false information.
However, Nadia began to doubt the police’s interpretation after multiple statements were issued by authorities in Punjab, which she perceived as a rushed attempt by the government to downplay the issue.
She questioned why such swift action isn’t taken when genuine cases of sexual assault occur, pointing out that the government’s current efforts seemed focused on discrediting the rape claim as fake news.
Nadia also expressed her fear for her safety as a woman in the country, admitting, “It was a mistake on my part to trust ASP Sheherbano.”
