ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has recommended the cancellation of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s passport and identity card.
According to Home Ministry sources, NAB Rawalpindi has received a letter from the Interior Ministry. The NAB wrote in the letter that Nawaz Sharif’s arrest warrant has been issued by the court.
The process of declaring Nawaz Sharif an advertisement has also been started. Nawaz Sharif’s travel documents should be canceled.
The NAB in the letter said that Nawaz Sharif’s passport and identity card should be blacklisted. The Interior Ministry should also contact Interpol for the former prime minister’s repatriation, the bureau stated.
It may be recalled that two days ago, the Islamabad High Court had summoned Nawaz Sharif through an advertisement and said that if the former prime minister did not appear within 30 days, he would be declared an advertisement.

A two-member bench of the Islamabad High Court comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard Nawaz Sharif’s appeals on Azizia and Avonfield references.
The court had ordered the Additional Attorney General to submit the advertisement expenses. Justice Amir Farooq had said that the money should be submitted and then the advertisement would be issued. Nawaz Sharif’s advertisements will be published in various newspapers.
