Islamabad police have reported the mysterious demise of Waqas Ahmed, a Grade-19 officer of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). His body was found in a guest house situated in Sector G-6/4.
According to police reports, the room was locked from the inside, and initial investigations revealed no visible signs of violence or injury on the body. The remains have been transferred to Polyclinic Hospital for further examination.
Police have said that the actual cause of death will only be determined after the release of the post-mortem report. Investigations are ongoing.
According to reports, Waqas Ahmed was originally from Lahore and had previously served as an investigating officer in the OGRA case. Given the sudden and unexplained circumstances of his death, authorities are exploring multiple angles to determine the cause.

Waqas Ahmed was a high-ranking official involved in several high-profile cases. He was part of the investigative team for the Steel Mills scandal and played a key role in the OGRA investigation.
He was also a member of the team that arrested former OGRA chairman Tauqeer Sadiq. At the time of his death, he was serving as Additional Director at NAB’s headquarters.
