LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has closed an assets beyond means inquiry against Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, and the Director General of NAB Lahore has sent the file to the bureau’s chief for final approval.
As per details, NAB Lahore has decided to close the ongoing inquiry against Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah over accumulating assets beyond known sources of income.
The sources maintained that the inquiry against Sanaullah could not continue even with the NAB Amendment Ordinance and that the Lahore High Court (LHC) had also confirmed his bail.
NAB Lahore stated that the accountability watchdog had received three different complaints against the interior minister, which were received on April 24, April 27, and August 16 of 2019. It furthered that the verification of the complaints was completed on December 3, 2019.
The bureau said the Lahore DG NAB gave approval for an assets inquiry against Sanaullah on December 20, 2019.
Sources say that the bureau has forwarded the file for final approval to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman.
It may be noted on December 10, an anti-narcotics special court, last week, acquitted Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah in drugs recovery case.
The Court for Control of Narcotics Substances also acquitted other accused of the case.
