Muzaffargarh police on Sunday arrested a man for uploading obscene images of an 11-year-old girl on his Facebook.
“The investigation is underway, and efforts are being made to recover the mobile phone used to upload the pictures.” Police Spokesperson Waseem Khan Gopang was quoted as saying in Dawn.com.
According to the FIR,the incident took place on November 29. The case was registered under sections 292 (Sale, etc., of obscene books, etc) and 342 (Punishment for wrongful confinement) of the Pakistan Penal Code at the Mehmood Kot Police Station on the complaint of the child’s father, Dawn reported.
In the FIR, the complainant said that after his daughter left for school but did not come home on time, he went in search of her.
According to the FIR, the man was told by his relatives that the suspect had posted pornographic images of his girl on his Facebook account while he was looking for his girl.
The girl’s father gave the police screenshots of the images that one of the relatives had taken as proof.
The background of the pictures, the FIR added, indicated that they were taken at the suspect’s home. Upon a search of the suspect’s residence, the child was recovered.
The girl said in the FIR that the suspect took her without her will and brought her to his house as she was walking home from school. Moreover, there was the suspect’s brother, and the two allegedly took pictures of the subject together.
According to the report, the main suspect took pictures of the minor and then fled with the phone while the other suspect threatened to post them on Facebook if she resisted.
The complainant asked the police to detain the suspects right away and punish them severely.
In July, a top official of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) said that only 343 cases of child sexual exploitation were reported in the previous five years.
