LAHORE: The Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar has dismissed CPO & AC Murree, Deputy Commissioner, and CTO Rawalpindi following the complete investigation report on Murree Incident.
In the press conference, the CM stated that, “ Muree incident was a big tragedy. The inquiry report reveals negligence and shortcomings. Action is being taken against 15 officers on the recommendations of the committee,” adding that, “I have promised the nation to take action against those responsible for the Murree tragedy. I fulfilled my promise to the people.”
“CPO and AC Murree have been dismissed. Deputy Commissioner, CTO Rawalpindi were also removed from office,” said Mr. Buzdar.

At least 22 tourists, including children and women, had frozen to death in their vehicles on the snow-covered roads after a snowstorm hit the hill station.
Following the incident, a five-member committee, headed by Additional Chief Secretary Home Zafar Nasarullah was formed by the Punjab government to find the responsible of the incident. The committee forwarded its report to CM Buzdar, last week, on which the action was taken.
