A Mumbai doctor experienced a shocking surprise when he ordered an ice cream online and discovered an unexpected topping—a human finger.
While enjoying the ice cream, he felt something unusual in his mouth, initially thinking it might be a large nut, but it turned out to be a finger with a nail.
The incident occurred on Wednesday. Dr. Orlem Brandon Serrao, a resident of Orlem in Malad, had ordered three ice cream cones through an online app, one of which was a butterscotch cone from the Yummo brand.
Recounting his traumatic experience, Dr. Serrao explained how he initially mistook the finger for a nut but luckily did not swallow it. “I ordered three cone ice creams from an app yesterday, including a butterscotch ice cream from Yummo. After eating half of it, I felt a solid piece in my mouth. I thought it might be a nut or a piece of chocolate, but I spat it out to check and discovered it was a human finger,” he stated in a video.
Dr. Serrao shared, “Since yesterday, I have been feeling numbness on my tongue. I was in disbelief that I had a human body part in my mouth. The package showed it was manufactured a month ago. This is extreme medical negligence. I need a full blood checkup as the finger might have contaminated the ice cream and potentially me.”
Following the incident, a photo showing the human finger protruding from the top of the ice cream cone went viral online. Authorities quickly responded to the disturbing situation, registering a case against the ice cream brand for alleged food adulteration and endangering human life.
