KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) has agreed to trade off its Senate candidature in favor of PPP’s Waqar Mehdi for the post of Karachi city administrator.

The development came hours after Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on law Barrister Murtaza Wahab announced that the Pakistan Peoples Party leadership and the people of the city would decide about the Mayor of Karachi.

in a meeting that took place between a delegation of the PPP, led by Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, at MQMP;s Bahadurabad headquarters the other day.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, deputy convener MQM, Wasim Akhtar, told reporters the delegation of the PPP came to seek MQM’s support for their candidate in the upcoming Senate by-poll.

It has been learnt that during the meeting, the PPP delegation discussed with MQMP the various matters, including by-elections on the Senate seat in the Sindh Assembly, delimitation of constituencies, the appointment of a new administrator of Karachi and others.
