LOS ANGELES: The Paramount Pictures has announced the latest installment in the sci-fi franchise ‘The Transformers’ will be released on 24th June 2022 amid the coronavirus pandemic.
According to details, work on two different live-action Transformers movies is currently underway. Written by James Vanderbilt, the first movie is expected to be an adaption of the Transformers spinoff Beast Wars while the second film is written by Joby Harold.
Despite facing harsh criticism, the Transformers movie series has grossed $4.84 billion. Many Hollywood movies have been shuffling for more release dates.
Both Sony Pictures and The Walt Disney announced updated theatrical release schedules that significantly delay some of their marquee superhero films. Natalie Portman starring ‘Thor: Love and Thunder,’ will be released in February 2022.
Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,’ the sequel to the 2016 Benedict Cumberbatch film, has been pushed back from November 2021 to March 2022.
Warner Bros. has moved Matt Reeves’ ‘The Batman’ back by four months, with the film now opening 1st October 2021. Originally set to release 25th June 2021, the film saw its production halted last month.
Attempts to curb the spread of the coronavirus have resulted in productions being shut down, which has caused a negative effect in the theatrical release calendar all the way into 2022.
The coronavirus outbreak has disrupted entertainment events in Hollywood and around the world, from the theatrical releases of major studio tentpoles to the launch of film festivals and TV conferences.
