Arjun Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, and Rakul Preet Singh starrer Mere Husband Ki Biwi has failed to impress the audience on Friday. While the film’s title grabs attention, its content fails to deliver, as reported by Indian media.
A report by Indian Express states that Mudassar Aziz’s previous film Khel Khel Mein had some good moments, though it was a remake. This time, he wrote the script himself, but it has fallen flat. The film drags on for over two and a half hours with clichéd scenes and underdeveloped characters.

The report further states that the story includes outdated tropes like bump-on-the-head amnesia. Bhumi Pednekar (Prabhleen Dhillon) and Rakul Preet Singh (Antara Khanna) stand out. Arjun Kapoor (Ankur Chaddha) surprisingly does a decent job as the confused man stuck between two women.
On the other hand, the film relies on one-liners rather than strong storytelling. According to Indian media, stand-up comedian Harsh Gujral delivers some decent punchlines, which help make the movie seem funny, while Shakti Kapoor repeats his signature “Aaooo” catchphrase.
Mere Husband Ki Biwi follows the 1980s-1990s formula, which no longer works. Despite star power, such films continue to fail at the box office. Even with big stars, empty theatres show that audiences recognize weak storytelling. The film finally connects to its title near the end, but most viewers wouldn’t stick around that long. The film is rated 1.5/5, indicating poor execution despite its potential.
