In view of the expected traffic pressure at the end of the Eid holidays, the National Highways and Motorway Police has issued an important travel advisory for citizens.
According to the spokesperson of the Motorway Police, an increase in traffic on motorways and highways is expected, so citizens can make their journey safe and comfortable by following some safety precautions. It is essential to thoroughly check the vehicle before starting the journey, including checking engine oil, water, tire pressure, and brakes.
The spokesperson advised drivers to always wear seat belts while driving, adhere to speed limits, maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, and follow lane and line discipline. Before setting out on a long journey, get adequate rest, and take breaks every two to two and a half hours. Avoid driving in a state of sleepiness or drowsiness.
The spokesperson of the National Highways and Motorway Police further stated that in cases of overloading or overcharging in passenger vehicles, complaints can be made to the Motorway Police helpline 130. For any emergency or guidance, travelers can contact 130.
The Motorway Police has appealed to the public to cooperate and said that by practicing responsible driving and safety measures, everyone’s journey can be made safe.
