ISLAMABAD: Fog is prevailing in different cities of the country. In some places, the visibility is less than 100 meters. Motorways and highways have been closed at various places, flight operation of Lahore Airport has also been suspended.
According to the details, with the increase in the cold wave, fog is still prevailing in different cities of the country. Due to fog, it became impossible to travel across Punjab including Lahore. Visibility is also affected in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan due to fog.
Motorway M2 Thokar Niaz Baig Lahore has been closed to vehicles. Motorway M2 from Darkhana to Rajana, M4 from Shamkot to Abdul Hakim, and M5 from Sher Shah to Rahim Yar Khan were closed. Lahore-Sialkot Motorway is also closed for traffic.
Due to heavy fog at several places on National Highway N5, the visibility was reduced to 50 meters. Ring Road Lahore is also closed to all types of traffic. Motorway police have instructed the citizens to be cautious and avoid unnecessary travel while traveling.
Due to heavy fog around Lahore Airport, the visibility is 50 meters. The aerial operation of Allama Iqbal International Airport has been suspended. The management instructed the passengers to contact the flight inquiry before arriving at the airport.
In the meantime, flights from Lahore will be operated from Islamabad Airport. Due to heavy fog and low visibility, flight schedule was also affected at Faisalabad and Sialkot airports, causing difficulties to passengers.
