A seven-year-old girl has died after being poisoned by her mother, along with her two siblings, in the Mehmoojoiya area of Kotli Loharan.
The victim, identified as Umme Ammara, succumbed to her injuries, while her two brothers, nine-year-old Muhammad Ghazi and three-year-old Muhammad Hamza, remain in critical condition.
According to a police spokesperson, the mother, Sidra Mohsin, had a phone argument with her husband, who is living abroad, before poisoning the children. A case has been registered against her, and she is currently in hiding.
Earlier on Friday, a minor boy killed his mother after she had refused to buy him new clothes for Eidul Fitr in Mohallah Gulzarabad, Pakpattan.
Despite the efforts of Rescue 1122, 35-year-old Sobia tragically succumbed to her injuries after being stabbed in the abdomen. Sobia, a tailor who worked from home, supported her family alongside her husband, Abdul Sattar, a daily wage laborer.
According to Abdul Sattar, Abdullah had been persistently asking his mother for money. Sobia reassured him that she would buy clothes once she received payments from her customers. On the day of the incident, when Sobia refused again, Abdullah, in a moment of frustration, grabbed a pair of scissors and stabbed her.
Pakpattan city police transported Sobia’s body to DHQ Hospital for an autopsy and took Abdullah into custody. However, no case was registered due to his minor status.
