KARACHI: Police have taken action and arrested the mother who threw her newborn girl on the road from a moving ambulance.
The incident happened on Friday when the body of a newborn girl was found on the road within the premises of Frere Road police station in Karachi. Police reached those involved in the incident with the help of evidence and CCTV footage. The investigating police officer said that girl’s mother was involved in the incident.
Police said that the accused Neha had given birth to the baby inside the ambulance of a private hospital located in Delhi Colony and had fled after throwing the newborn baby on main Chaudhry Khaliq-ul-Zaman Road.
According to police, a case has been registered against the accused and legal action has been initiated. They said strict legal action will be taken against the woman.
In another incident this week, Police recovered the body of a 22-day-old girl found mysteriously dead at her house in Liaquatabad area.
The infant named Zamal, daughter of Samad, was mysteriously found dead in a house in Liaquatabad No. 7 area of Karachi. Police reached the scene and shifted the body to a nearby hospital.
In her initial statement, the girl’s mother said a boy stormed into her house from the roof and pushed her after which she fainted after her head hit the fridge. She said when she regained consciousness, her baby girl’s throat was cut.
According to police, the family said that only a woman was present in the house at the time of the incident and the girl’s father had gone to work. Karachi police said further investigation is underway into the incident to reveal the facts behind the gruesome murder.
