BERLIN: More than 260 companies participated in the international Heimtextil exhibition of 2023, an annual textile trade fair, in Germany. Around 2,400 exhibitors from over 120 countries took part, including 260 exporters from Pakistan.
Pakistani exporters participating in Heimtextil 2023 have voiced hope that they will secure a record number of export orders during the exhibition.
It may be added here that Pakistan has the fourth-largest number of exhibitors after China, India and Turkey.
To facilitate smaller exporters, the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) set up a national pavilion, in which 59 exporters presented their products to global buyers.
Exporters said Heimtextil created new opportunities every year but in the current situation, it would be difficult to take advantage of these opportunities without government support.
Many exporters believed that the textile industry could play an important role in tackling the ongoing foreign exchange crisis if the government resolved their issues.
