KARACHI: More than 230 cases of rape of children and women have been reported in Sindh province during the last 10 months, in which more than 55 cases revealed gang rape.
According to the details, the police issued a report of sexual assault incidents across Sindh including Karachi. Police said that last year 272 cases of rape and 82 cases of gang rape were reported.
The police said in the report that 235 cases of rape were reported in Karachi since January, including about 50 cases of gang rape. Last year, 74 incidents of gang rape were reported in Karachi.
So far, the police have arrested a total of 89 accused while according to the report of the Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO) and Center for Research, Development, and Communication (CRDC) 133 women across the country in July alone. Kidnapped while more than 85 women were sexually assaulted.
